Larlee Construction did a wonderful whole house renovation to our 6000 square foot plantation house. Grant's team of employees and subcontractors are the very best, as my father said it is nice to see that there is still quality craftsmanship. Grant Larlee has completed several projects for us; renovation of a guest cottage and a six stall barn. In both of these , he has demonstrated superior workmanship. We purchased our home in Aiken while still residing in New Jersey. Our goal was to have the home fully completed before we moved in. The project was major, affecting every room in the house as well as the exterior. Grant took on the project as the general contractor and completed it on schedule, consulting with us when needed and making the appropriate decisions in detailed areas where his experience warranted. We placed complete confidence in Grant to select the right subcontractors and materials, to introduce us to interior designers and others to help us accomplish our desire for a quality, livable home. We were not disappointed. Grant exceeded our expectations and the home is exactly what we desired. What makes it all the more pleasant was that we could rely on Grant to deliver a quality product on schedule without us having to make visits to Aiken during the construction period.

I just wanted to take some time to let you know how much I love all the renovation work you have done on our house. Our 1920s Carriage House at Crazy Creek needed a lot of updating but with your help and ideas the house & barn have become show places.
I do not know which part of the house I like the most now. The incredible screened in porch, the fabulous shower and master bedroom, the beautiful kitchen or the authentic English pub and wine cellar you put in the barn.
Now when we have guests they can stay in the new living quarters over the new garage. I have to tell you everyone who visits cannot believe all the work that was done and it still looks like the original 1920's house on the outside.
After living in 10 places in 14 years you and your staff have made it a pleasure to redo a house.
I would never have thought I would be writing a glowing "Thank You" note to a contractor. But Grant you deserve it. I would, and have highly recommended you to all my friends. I hope that we will be able to work together on something in the future. A new house perhaps?

As you know our home and guest house were recently recognized by The HIstoric Aiken Foundation as winners of the Wilds-Lipe Treasured Homes Award for preservation and restoration of one of Aiken's older homes. We feel great about the Award and how everything turned out.
The combination of a good plan and Larlee Construction has given us a home that we love. When guests visit and they stay in the guest house they feel right at home-and it's not the furnishings- it was your work and suggestions that make it a true "southern home". The attention to detail, your ability to work with the city, and your suggestions on materials all gave our home the little extra missing in many new homes today. Working with a foundation built in 1938 that had several lives, from a home and office to the SPCA, gave you challenges that many contractors would run away from. Your crew handled each stage of construction professionally and on time.

We were very pleased with the jobs performed on both of our major projects. The Sun Room gets so many great comments and we use it every day. I have not found anything I would change about it. The garage turned out to be the Cadillac of garages. During both of our projects we were very pleased with the attention to detail shown by Grant, Jon and his whole team. We were also pleased with the communication from Grant, including pictures and emails while we were out of town. Grant's attention to detail made the difference between our results and just an average job.
